Freedom Commons Welcomes Wildly Popular Naf Naf Grill
August 25, 2010
Everybody is talking about Naf Naf Grill, the fresh middle eastern sensation that has restaurant critics and Naperville area diners abuzz. Naf Naf will leave its close quarters on Ogden Avenue on September 3rd to open at Freedom Commons, the lifestyle center on Freedom Drive between the I-88 Naperville Exit and Diehl Road on Naperville's north side. Freedom Commons, already home to Maggiano's, Morton's, The White Chocolate Grill and Jason's Deli, is a popular dining destination for visitors, workers and students as well as residents throughout the Western suburbs. Freedom Commons also boasts Taco Fresco, Einstein Bros. Bagels and Subway as well as a variety of health, fitness, beauty and financial offerings.
Specializing in freshly prepared falafel, shawarma and beef and chicken kabobs, traditional salads, hummus, tahini and warm pita baked throughout the day, Naf Naf has gained rave reviews by Chicago Magazine and ABC TV Channel 7's Hungry Hound among others. Owner David Sloan says the key to Naf Naf's success is Chef Sahar Sanders’ commitment to making every order fresh and by hand. “We want people to experience a wonderful cuisine, full of wonderful flavors, and know that everything is the freshest it can be. We bake the pita fresh every hour and serve it warm," he says. "There's nothing like it."
Sloan says the move to Freedom Commons will allow the fledgling company to build a concept. "Naperville's been very good to us. There really was nothing like this here and it's really taken off," says Sloan. "It's a great city where people are willing to try things and spread the word." Sloan says the Type A retail development provided by Freedom Commons will help Naf Naf grow. "Our new site will have a professional build-out, with Middle Eastern flair, lots of tile, Moroccan glass and warm colors. We'll have plenty of seating, and the location on the tollway gives customers throughout the region access to our cuisine."
Freedom Commons is located at the I-88 Naperville exit, on Freedom Drive and Diehl Road on Naperville’s north side. The area serves communities along the tollway in DuPage County, as well as the I-88 Tech Corridor, and corporate campuses and university satellites along Diehl and Warrenville Roads.
